Normal LSV's Lotus Lounge Team Draft Server Rules apply unless stated otherwise.
Registration
- 150 tix/team — the captain registers and pays for the team
- Signups close Friday, Aug. 21
- Pairings posted Saturday, Aug. 22
- Minimum 8 teams
How to Register
Registration happens in the Lotus Lounge Discord, and the entry fee is paid in MTGO event tickets through the league bot. Captains:
- Join the Lotus Lounge if you haven't already.
- Link your MTGO account: run
/link_mtgo <username>with your exact MTGO login. The bot uses it for the entry-fee trade and to auto-record your match results. Check it anytime with/mtgo_whoami. - Register your team: run
/tournament register team:<your team name>. If your wallet already covers the 150-tix fee, you're done — the fee moves straight into the prize pool. Otherwise your spot is held and the bot tells you exactly how many tix you're short. - Deposit the tix: run
/wallet deposit 150(or whatever the bot said you're short). It opens an MTGO trade from the league's custodian account — hand over the tix in that trade window, and your deposit is confirmed automatically. Any held registration completes on its own the moment the tix land; no need to re-register.
Only the captain pays. Teammates just need to be in the Discord — though linking their MTGO accounts with /link_mtgo is recommended so their match results record automatically. Check your balance anytime with /wallet show.
Format
4 Swiss rounds followed by finals playoffs. Tiebreaker: Opponents' Match-Win %.
One draft a week: each Swiss round runs for one week, and your team plays a single draft in it.
Drafts are normally 3v3. Teams may agree to a larger, equal team size.
The recommended cube is PowerLSV. Any cube is allowed with the agreement of both teams; if no cube is agreed upon, the classic LSV Cube is used.
Rosters are open. Players may freely substitute and play for multiple teams. Subs are automatically approved but should be reported before the draft. A player on both opposing teams must choose one side.
Scheduling
Rounds are weekly — your team plays one draft each week, any time inside the round's window.
Default: Friday, 1 PM ET · Recommended alternate: Saturday, 10 PM ET
Teams may agree to any time, but must do so by Thursday, 1 PM ET or the Friday default applies. Drafts may not start after Sunday, 5 PM ET.
Lateness
Call a judge if a team isn't ready at start time:
| Delay | Penalty |
|---|---|
| 10 min | Missing player starts Round 1 down a game |
| 20 min | Entire team starts Round 1 down a game |
| 30 min | Team concedes |
Teams may mutually waive these penalties.
Matches
- Tied team score: one random player from each team plays an additional best-of-three match
- Intentional draws are not allowed
- Pools are open; decklists are not
- Coaching and spectators are allowed
- Matches must be open to spectators
Prizes
100% of entry fees go to the prize pool.
Top 25% of teams, rounded down, are paid. Final payouts are announced after signups close.
If the tournament is cancelled, entry fees are refunded to the captains who paid them.
